Product Features
Known as “America’s Most Beloved Cowboy,” Tex Ritter’s career spanned more than four decades. Few entertainers have enjoyed as versatile a career as Ritter, with his accomplishments spanning music, radio, the stage and movies. Ritter was one of the biggest cowboy stars in an era where cowboy superstars reined supreme. John Wayne, Roy Rogers and Gene Autry were all at the heights of their careers at the same time as Ritter and his star power burned just as bright. Bill O’Neal is a noted Texas historian, having been appointed “Texas State Historian,” in 2012 by then Texas Governor Rick Perry. O’Neal grew up being a fan of Tex Ritter and has thoroughly researched Ritter’s life and career. In addition to “Tex Ritter: America’s Most Beloved Cowboy,” O’Neal has written more than 40 books, with the majority documenting Texas or Western history.
